3D printing copper material selection suggestions:
  • 1Pursue extreme electrical and thermal conductivity: choose pure copper (Cu).
  • 2Require good wear resistance, medium strength, easy printing, and relatively low cost: choose tin bronze (CuSn).Accept its lower electrical and thermal conductivity.
  • 3Require a perfect balance of high strength and high electrical and thermal conductivity: choose chromium zirconium copper (CuCrZr).Be sure to plan precise heat treatment and strict process control (powder quality, printing parameters, atmosphere).
  • 4Pursue extreme strength while accepting medium electrical and thermal conductivity: choose nickel silicon chromium copper (CuNiSiCr).The printing process (control cracking) and heat treatment process are the most demanding, requiring expert process development capabilities.
